How To View LinkedIn Profiles Anonymously
Let's face it, we're all partial to a little of stalking on social media especially when it comes to our competitors. Carrying out market research and keeping an eye on the competition from time to time is a healthy practice in business. The trick is not to let them know what we're up to. On most social media platforms, they've got us covered by not showing users who has viewed their profiles. However, on LinkedIn, they do and users can check who has been giving their profiles the 'once over'.Here is a quick tip on how you change your setting on LinkedIn to view user's profiles anonymously.
At the top right hand corner, you will see your profile image. If you hover over this image, a drop down menu will appear like so:
Scroll down to the 'Privacy and Settings' and click 'Manage'.
You will be asked to re-enter your login details. Enter these and you will be taken to your account settings.
Under the profile tab you will see an option to "Select what others see when you've viewed their profile". Click here and you will be shown three privacy settings. The third option will ensure that you are completely anonymous to others.
When you select the option to be totally anonymous, you will no longer be able to see who has viewed your profile. Simply change this back once you are done browsing anonymously and you will be able to see who has viewed your page once again.
Now when you view profiles, the user will see the following when they check who has viewed their profile.
Completely anonymous. Now you can stalk your competitors in steal mode and they will be none the wiser.
